I am a limnologist in the spirit of limnology as "the study of inland waters". My research bridges aquatic ecosystem ecology and fluvial geomorphology with the goal to improve our ability to restore ecosystem functions to river-floodplain systems by better understanding the fundamental interaction between physiographic setting and ecological processes. With collaborators in geomorphology, engineering and landscape ecology, I am working to describe the transport and transformation of ecologically important nutrients through river-floodplain ecosystems.
Currently I am a postdoctoral associate at the National Center for Earth-Surface Dynamics (NCED).
