National Center for
Earth-surface Dynamics

  My Research Interests:

I am a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Minnesota working with the National Center for Earth-surface Dynamics. My primary research interest is watershed science, which encompasses aspects of geology and ecology. More specifically, my research is dedicated to understanding how landscapes change over long and short timescales and how living organisms influence, and are influenced by, those changes.

I am currently working on three projects:

1) Developing an integrated sediment budget for the Le Sueur River, southern Minnesota

2) Using 10-Be to estimate erosion rates and deconstruct erosional processes in the talus-dominated Lemhi Range, eastern Idaho

3) Calibrating the molecular clock for Oncorhynchus clarki (cutthroat trout) in the Clearwater River, western Washington

4) Stream turbidity: relevance as a metric for water quality and influence on stream biota

5) Developing a GIS tool to predict floodplain inundation using high-resolution topography and stream flow data -NEED PHOTO

Recently completed work:

1) 2004 - 2007 Basin-wide erosion rates and landscape evolution in the Olympic Peninsula, western Washinton state
